Repairs, restorations, and valuations

All, and every Violin, Cello, Viola, or Dbl. Bass is checked and set up to correct specifications by our own in-house workshop. This, of course, enables us to service the guarantee that comes with every instrument we sell and to provide a wide-ranging expert repair facility. Bow rehairs are done on the premises and professional restorations are handled by a very competent Hill’s–trained bow maker.

Valuations are offered on instruments up to £1000 free of charge on examination in our shop. More valuable instruments are referred to Mr. Hamilton Caswell who will issue a certificate at the agreed cost for insurance purposes.

We cannot do valuations at a distance or by phone apart from general guidelines on average appreciation.
