Thank you for this – a very usefull product indeed!

This item was recommended to me by a strings teacher. It is very simple to attach to my fiddle and does not damage the fiddle or the bow. (A previous gadget did) This product is made of a very smooth plastic which allows the bow to glide very easily between the guides. I am hopeful that it will give me the result I want but I have not practised with it for long enough to find out.

  3. Alex Macphee (verified owner)

Much flimsier than I expected. Worked fairly well initially, but one of the legs snapped clean off on just the third or fourth use. Expected something sturdier for the price. Disappointed.

Hello Alex, we’re sorry you’ve had problems with the Cello Horace. It does have to span the width of the cello so does have to be fairly lightweight by design otherwise it would be very bulky and heavy. We have sold hundreds and this is the second I can recall breaking. Please do contact us and we would be very pleased to replace it.

Caswell’s were prompt in sending me a replacement bow guide when the first unexpectedly and unusually snapped. Now been in use for several months and working perfectly. Has been a significant aid in helping achieve the correct angle of bow to strings. A recommended and effective teaching aid.
