Description

The Dampit Cello humidifier was developed over 40 years ago by a musician searching for a way to stop a dreaded crack or warp developing in your cello.

The danger is even greater now with cellists moving about from climate to climate and even at home with central heating and air conditioning drying out the air.

Using your Dampit Cello humidifier:

Simply soak the dampit in water and then pinch out the excess water, wiping the tube dry. Slip the flexible tube through the F-hole. The humidity indicator card helps monitor the humidity and guard against cracking.

Why use a Dampit Cello humidifier?

Wood absorbs and releases moisture as humidity levels change in the surrounding air. Instruments are, of course, made of wood. Dry air causes wood to release moisture which causes it to shrink and/or shift ever so slightly which for your instrument can lead to cracks and expensive repair bills. Of course most instruments will not crack, but as your instrument dries out, its tone will change, and seldom does it change for the better! Purchasing a relatively inexpensive humidifier will protect your investment and you to sound your best

There are 4 versions available: for Violin, Viola, cello and Bass
