The Thomastik Superflexible Viola string set has a rope core and is Chrome wound. The Superflexible Viola strings are an advance over conventional strings, further in the development of the solid core string and a step towards the spiral core.

The solid core has been replaced by a cable-type structure made up of braided steel threads. This reduces the strings stiffness but increases it’s elasticity and therefore this string has an excellent response and its tone seems to literally radiate from the instrument, with minimal harshness, which sounds soft and brilliant.

For duration of life, stability of tuning and perfect fifths, the string is unsurpassed. Superflexible strings are reliable all-rounders, suitable for all kinds of bowing style.
